Acadiana Shakespeare Festival

Privacy Policy

Who we are

This website belongs to the Acadiana Shakespeare Festival (“we,” “us”), the Acadiana regional of the English-Speaking Union National Shakespeare Competition, organized by Annie Will’s Daughter, a Louisiana nonprofit corporation, and Josiah Price, Lafayette, Louisiana. Hosting is provided by Collective Reach LLC, a Louisiana limited liability company doing business as Creative Reach. The English-Speaking Union of the United States is a separate organization; its registration form and competition materials are its own.

This policy explains what this website collects, what it does not, and how to reach us about it.

What this site collects

Visiting the site

We do not run analytics, advertising, or tracking on this site. No Google Analytics, no pixels, no fingerprinting. The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. (United States). Like any web host, Vercel’s servers receive your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, and the time of each request in order to deliver the pages and defend against abuse. Vercel keeps those logs for a short period under its own privacy policy; we do not use them to identify you.

Registering a school

School registration goes through the English-Speaking Union’s own form on Google Forms. What you enter there is collected by the ESU and Google under their policies, not by this site. Judges and mentors reach us by email.

Email

If you email us, we keep the message for as long as we need it to reply and to keep a record of the conversation. Our mailboxes are hosted by Google Workspace.

Cookies and local storage

This site sets no cookies of its own and loads no third-party scripts that would set them. Details are in the Cookie Policy.

How we use information, and who sees it

We use what you give us to answer you, to do the thing you asked for, and to keep the records the law requires. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not send marketing email to anyone who has not asked for it.

The only companies that handle data for this site are the service providers named above: Vercel (hosting), and Google Workspace (email). Each processes data only to provide its service to us. We will disclose information if the law requires it or to protect someone’s safety.

Children

The competition is for high-school students, and registration is done by their teachers through the ESU. This site does not collect personal information from students, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to records we must keep (for example, a paid order or a tax acknowledgment). Email josiah@acadianashakespearefestival.org and we will answer within 30 days. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising these rights. Residents of states with privacy laws (such as California) have the rights those laws provide; we honor them for everyone.

We do not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals because we do not track. Global Privacy Control signals are likewise moot: there is no sale or sharing to opt out of.

Security and retention

The site is served over HTTPS. We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was given, then delete it. If a breach ever affects your personal information, we will notify you as Louisiana’s Database Security Breach Notification Law and the law of your own state require.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and a material change will be noted on this page. Questions go to josiah@acadianashakespearefestival.org or (337) 254-6571. Mail can be sent care of Creative Reach, Lafayette, Louisiana; ask by email for the mailing address.
